Does rest mode speed up downloads ps4

Doesn't really speed them up for me per say, but it does seem to make it more consistent. Looking at my router's bandwidth monitor, I'll hit my download cap (~MB/s) regardless of the PS4 being on or in rest mode, but while it's on, it dips down to MB/s every so often for a few seconds here and there. I believe so, whenever I need to download something I turn the PS4 to restmode and come back in 20 minutes when it said it would take an hour. My one s downloads super fast(I'm on virgin media mbps) but the PS4 Pro seems to download a lot lot more slower. Hopefully the ps5 downloads are faster. I've got ps now put on a month ago. @SCAssassin My PS4 (both the original and now the Pro) seem to download at my max speed for a certain amount of time, and then it trickles in at like a 1/10th of that speed.
